This feature-packed textile adventure takes you to the heart of Great Britain's world-renowned Lake District, home to Peter Rabbit and many rare breeds of British sheep. Explore the lakes and fells that inspired William Wordsworth and the Lake Poets, as well as author Beatrix Potter, a noted environmentalist of her era. June 24 - July 3, 2008Woolfest 2008 - a festival of color and texture, showcases the best of British and European fiber-producing animals, fleeces, yarns, knitting and crochet tools, felting materials, and more. Lending our support to these stewards of rare breeds will help maintain the integrity of animal bloodlines and conserve global diversity. We will spend time learning about the conservation efforts of small farm owners in the UK and Europe, and join them in working with their artisanal yarns and fleeces. Don't miss the chance to experience a meaningful and inspiring journey to one of the world's most beautiful and fragile environments. |
