Summer & Fall Departures
Land Program from $2299/€1799
8-10 days - Cornwall with optional London Stopover
Those who love art, sculpture, walking and gardens - join us! Traveling via London's Heathrow or Gatwick Airport, meet our group for our first night in Bath, then travel to the peaceful Cornish town of Bude.

  • We're perched in a cliffside Victorian hotel from a bygone time, in the domain of Thomas Hardy, Rosamund Pilcher and Daphne duMaurier. Right outside the hotel door is a grass footpath for walking the headland overlooking the Atlantic.

  • Our two-night stay here includes a visit to Tintagel, home of the legendary Arthur and his knights of Camelot. We'll explore Bodmin Moor, with its Bronze Age settlements, burial chambers and holy wells, reminders of Cornwall’s rich heritage. The moor is also home to ‘Jamaica Inn’, made famous by Daphne du Maurier’s novel.

  • Next we travel down to the sunny south, to spend a few days exploring Falmouth, Land's End, Penzance and St. Ives. The area is rich in history, culture and natural beauty. Depending on the interests of our group, we can visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project, or one of many country house gardens that abound in the region. Of course we will partake of at least one traditional Cornish cream tea, maybe more! And a quest for the best genuine Cornish pasty will be a rewarding task.

  • In St. Ives we visit the ultramodern Tate Gallery St. Ives, and the adjacent museum (former home) of renowned sculptor Barbara Hepworth. For the browsers among us, shops are filled with antiques, artwork, local crafts, homemade jellies and honey.

  • Our route back toward London takes us to the medieval city of Salisbury, and a chance to see Stonehenge or the even bigger stones of Avebury.

  • Optional add-on: We can arrange a two-night apartment stay and planned itinerary in London at the end of the trip.

Connemara Spa Holiday
Land Program from $2499/€1929
7 nights - October & November
A couple of days of hill-walking in Connemara, communing with sheep and maybe kayaking in a fjord, are the perfect preparation for an indulgent stay at Rosmoney Spa and Seaweed Baths. Soaking in a heated saltwater pool is just the beginning, as you unwind with superb accommodation, cuisine and wines.

This holiday is all about relaxation, letting go of worries and woes, breathing deeply and being close to the earth's essence.

England for Art Lovers

London, York and Saltaire
Land Program from $2399/€1850
8 days - Departures October & November
Sample the bustle of London and the cathedral city of York...and a well-kept secret in the English countryside - the Yorkshire town of Saltaire. It houses a vast collection of art by local boy - and artworld megastar - David Hockney.

  • Arrive in London and meet the group in our small boutique hotel directly facing Kensington Gardens - home for three days.

  • Explore the park and enjoy a leisurely tea at l'Orangerie café at Kensington Palace

  • Spend a day at one of the great art museums of London - choose from the Tate Britain, Tate Modern, the National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, the Courtauld Gallery, or one of the smaller, more specialized art collections. In the afternoon, we visit an art dealer and restoration expert who explains the process of restoring and preserving artwork. Or if you choose, venture further afield to Canterbury, Greenwich, or Hampton Court.
  • Optional day trip: a short tube ride to Kew Gardens, for a guided tour of the extensive gardens and greenhouses, and tea at the Maids of Honour Tearoom. Alternatively, wander the byways and shops of London; evening theatre event.
  • We take a short flight to Leeds for the next phase of our trip. Leeds is a medieval university town, formerly center of the wool trade, now grown into Britain's third largest city. It will be our base for four days.
  • After dinner and an overnight in Leeds, we board a local train for the 15 minute journey to Saltaire. This quaint village has a storied history, but its current notoriety stems from something much more modern. The Salt's Mill complex is home to a huge collection of paintings, drawings, and stage sets by contemporary British art superstar David Hockney. The restored mill is a sensual feast, with huge galleries of paintings, art books, crafts, and a great restaurant. We'll spend a blissful day here, returning to Leeds in the evening for a casual dinner.
  • Day trip through the Yorkshire Dales to the town of Harrogate. A morning of shopping and discovery in town is followed by lunch at the famous Betty's Tea Rooms. Afternoon finds us luxuriating at the Victorian Turkish Baths, beautifully restored and offering spa services such as facials, massages and manicures. Lounge around tonight!
  • On our final day in the North Country, we journey to the City of York to tour its magnificent cathedral, then on to Castle Howard, a formidable country estate and the familiar setting for the Brideshead Revisited series. Castle Howard is home to a remarkable collection of paintings by Rubens, Tintoretto, Van Dyke, Canaletto and Reynolds; the most famous being Holbein's portrait of Henry VIII. Farewell Dinner tonight in Leeds.
  • Flight back to Heathrow early AM for connecting flights - tired but happy art fans.
